Fifty First Flights
Justus was a little more than a month old when he took his first plane ride. We were so nervous, but he did just fine. As it turned out, it was an accurate preview of the kind of world traveler he would soon become. This last week on the last leg of our trip home, Justus logged his fiftieth flight.
Traveling is definitely one of Justus’ skills. He does it so well, and takes most everything in stride. That’s in large part thanks to how much work his momma puts in to make sure he’s got enough things to keep him busy, but it’s also thanks to the kind of person he is.
He loves going to new places and meeting new people. He loves striking up conversations with strangers. Last week he started chatting with a pilot who was waiting in line for coffee as well as an airport employee taking a break near where we were waiting. He explained to the security guard about how we didn’t know we needed Coronavirus tests to fly through Amsterdam. He loves communicating and being on the move. He always has.
I had hoped to celebrate the 50th flight in some special way, but the last leg of our trip home is always the hardest. Instead, here are some of my favorite photos from our last fifty flights.
Here’s to the next fifty!
