Motherland Monument
We’ve lived here for more than a year, but we’ve hardly seen much of Kyiv at all. We feel busy enough with our daily work and family life that we’ve rarely even crossed the bridge towards the center.
Now that my parents have been in town, we’ve been more motivated to go out and see some of the sights. Yesterday, we finally got over to see the Motherland Monument and even toured the war museum. Justus enjoyed playing on the old tanks outside, and we appreciated the somber reminder of what a a difficult past (and present) Ukraine has faced over the last century.
